
Lenna Vee was the only child born to Nell and Lou Hardy. She was born June 15, 1919, in The Red Store Community south of Hastings, Oklahoma. Lenna Vee attended Pecan Grove and Belcher Hill country grade schools before graduating from Hastings High School in 1939. She attended Cameron University in Lawton and one year at Oklahoma A&M in Stillwater. She held several jobs during World War II in Oklahoma City and Wichita Falls, Texas. Lenna Vee and Sgt. Vernon Ross were married November 11, 1950, at the chapel at Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, Texas. They lived at different air force bases, one being at Tripoli, in Libya, for three years. They built a new home in Hastings after Vernon's retirement from the Air Force. Vernon passed away November 23, 1987. Lenna Vee continued living in Hastings until she moved to Westbrook Care Center in 2003. She was a member of the Hastings Baptist Church.
She is survived by several
cousins and sisters-in-law.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ross will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, September
6, 2008, at the Hastings First Baptist Church. Burial will be
in the Hastings Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral
Home in Waurika. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 AM to 6:00
